CTC* Catalunya 2015: Unleashing Creativity and Innovation in the Classroom

In the heart of Barcelona, a revolution is brewing in the classrooms. iRobota Verkstad, in collaboration with Departament d’Ensenyament of the Generalitat de Catalunya and eduCaixa Obra Social “La Caixa,” has embarked on a mission to transform technology education in Cataluñа. The CTC* Catalunya 2015 initiative is empowering teachers to ignite the spark of creativity and innovation in their students through the integration of emerging technologies.

CTC*: A Catalyst for Change

CTC* (Creative Technologies in the Classroom) is a collaborative learning curriculum that seamlessly blends emerging technologies into existing technology classes. It’s a dynamic and engaging approach that aims to revolutionize technology education globally. Through a series of captivating experiments, CTC* introduces students to fundamental concepts in programming, electronics, and mechanics, fostering a deeper understanding of the intricate world of technology.

Empowering Teachers, Inspiring Students

At the forefront of this educational transformation are 200 dedicated teachers who underwent intensive training in Barcelona. These educators, armed with the CTC* curriculum and a passion for innovation, are poised to introduce this transformative approach to their students in Cataluñа from September onwards. Their mission is to ignite a passion for technology and empower the next generation of innovators and problem solvers.

A Platform for Creativity and Collaboration

CTC* provides a platform for students to unleash their creativity and collaborate on projects that showcase their technological prowess. Last year’s technology fair, a culmination of the CTC* program, witnessed over 240 awe-inspiring projects. This year, the anticipation is palpable as the event is expected to double in size, showcasing the boundless creativity and ingenuity of Cataluñа’s young minds.

Expanding Horizons, Reaching New Heights

The second edition of CTC* Catalunya will extend its reach to 103 schools, engaging approximately 2,500 students in the transformative learning experience. The program’s impact is undeniable, and the final fair, scheduled for February 6th, 2016, at the CosmoCaixa Museum in Barcelona, is a testament to its success. The entire temporary exhibition space will be dedicated to this grand event, accommodating the anticipated influx of visitors eager to witness the extraordinary creations of these young innovators.

Bonus: CTC* is not just a curriculum; it’s a movement. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and the belief in the potential of every child. As Albert Einstein once said, “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” CTC* Catalunya 2015 is providing the platform for this fun, nurturing the creative spirit of Cataluñа’s youth and shaping the future of technology education.

In the words of Steve Jobs, “Creativity is just connecting things.” CTC* Catalunya 2015 is creating these connections, fostering a generation of innovators who will shape the world of tomorrow.
